Generative artificial intelligence (AI) is transforming business operations across Saudi Arabia and the Gulf region. SAP's generative AI program, Joule, is at the forefront of this digital transformation, promising to streamline processes, enhance decision-making, and boost productivity in various industries.
SAP's Joule, a natural language generative AI copilot, is designed to simplify tasks and optimize business outcomes. The tool is expected to manage 80 percent of the most common tasks performed by SAP’s 300 million users by the end of 2024, with the potential to increase productivity by 20 percent. Joule's capabilities extend across multiple business functions, from finance and analytics to supply chain decisions and procurement strategies.
Ahmed Al-Faifi, senior vice president and managing director of SAP Middle East and North Africa, highlighted the revolutionary impact of AI on Saudi Arabia’s digital landscape.
Speaking at the SAP Sapphire conference in Barcelona, he emphasized how public and private sectors in the Gulf are embracing AI to drive digital transformation. “Amid this impressive and rapid digital evolution, it is imperative that we use AI in a way that benefits our region’s businesses and communities,” Al-Faifi said.
SAP’s commitment to innovation in Saudi Arabia is evident in its initiatives, such as the opening of an SAP Experience Center in Alkhobar and extending its Academy of Engineering program in collaboration with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology. These efforts are aimed at bolstering the Kingdom’s technological capabilities and supporting its Vision 2030 goals.
Joule plays a critical role in this adaptation process, simplifying complex business tasks and acting as an adviser to clients. This is especially crucial as Saudi Arabia continues to experience rapid growth and transformation, necessitating innovative solutions to remain competitive on a global scale.
